The "SWLAPCUG" consists of people who are interested in learning and sharing their knowledge about computers, especially IBM-compatible personal computers, and was organized in November 1984. General meetings are held the second Monday of each month, at the Village Greens Apartments Clubhouse, (on Ernest St, behind the Prien Lake Mall), in Lake Charles. The Q&A Discussion SIG (Special Interest Group - a small group meeting to learn about a particular topic) starts at 6:00 PM and the General Meeting at 7:00 PM. Dues are $24.00 per year, per family, and are used to deter operating expenses and provide a monthly Newsletter.
The newsletter is a combined effort of members passing on their knowledge about computers. Articles for the Newsletter can be emailed to the Newsletter Editor.
We are an informal and nonprofit club, and always welcome new guests. If you are interested in joining or placing an ad in the News Letter, please fill out an application that will help us to get to know you better. You can get a copy of an application on our web site, www.swlapcug.com or at one of our meetings. Your dues may be given to the Treasurer or any Club Officer.

Other registrants may be declined by our staff. This has nothing to do with you personally. It has to do with our desire to maintain the local nature of our discussions, functions, etc. We may accept non-residents in a few special cases, such as: * People who offer special computer skills that are not represented in depth with our current membership. * Representatives of manufacturers and/or retail vendors of computer software, hardware or services.
Registrants that do not meet the local-resident requirement, MUST provide information as to why they should be considered for registration. Non-resident registrations may be deleted if sufficient justification for an exception is not included.
Please do not post links in your registration to websites which advertise porn, piracy or other inappropriate content. These links will be deleted, and will result in a permanent ban from the SWLAPCUG website.
